What causes hands to look old?
As well as sun damage and neglect, your hands lose substantial volume during the natural ageing process. The loss of volume caused by the depletion of dermal elasticity and subcutaneous fat can make your hands look much older than the rest of you. The bones start to protrude and the veins and tendons become more prominent. Some clients may refer this to as 'skeleton hands.'
How is it treated?
By carefully injecting dermal fillers at specific areas of the hand, we can restore the volume lost, hence reducing the skeletal look for a more healthier and desirable appearance by restoring the hands virtually back to normal. The procedure can take up to 30 minutes.
Is it painful?
Most patients find the procedure on their hands comfortable and relatively pain-free. As well as using ultra-fine needles, a numbing cream is applied 20-30 minutes before the procedure. Our Juvederm range of dermal fillers, contain lignocaine, which acts as a local anaesthetic, further numbing the injection site to provide a pain-free experience.
How long does the treatment last?
Instant results seen and treatment can last up to 12 months.
